SR-2 Distinctive Ring Call Processor

DESCRIPTION

Direct your distinctive ring calls to the phone(s) or device(s) you designate with any product from Multi-Link's SR™ Selective Ring Call Processor series.

Once installed on your home or office telephone line, the SR Call Processor "listens" to incoming calls to determine ring pattern. The SR series is great for separating business from personal calls, fax from voice calls, TDD from voice calls, etc... Your fax number rings the fax, your voice number rings your phones, etc...on a SINGLE phone line.

The SR2 is designed for the usual two distinctive ring services offered by most phone companies. The SR2 offer a barge-in protection function.

All SR products feature the Smartware™ embedded software that "learns" your phone company's specific distinctive ring patterns.

Review 2 - SR-2 Distinctive Ring Call Processor

From: Stu Kutkin

I installed The SR-2 and have everything working. I have all my telephones connected to line 1 (in parallel of course). In my office, I have line 1 go into a UPS and then into a 1-to-4 line splitter. One of the splitter lines goes into the SR2.

The SR2 DR device 2 port feeds the FaxPal 2. Nothing is connected to device 1 of the SR2. The other splitter outputs go to telephones, modems, etc in my office.

If a call comes in via the regular number, all of the phones ring and CID shows. The FaxPal2 never knows a call came in.

If a call comes in via the DR number, all of the phones ring 1.5 times, the SR2 routes the call to the FaxPal2, it answers (set to answer on ring 1),
and down comes the fax. The CID on the parallel telephones pick up the data since the 1.5 ring time is sufficient for them to get the info.

I have tested it on a local number and my daughter called in via her long distance number. Worked just fine.

Review 4 - SR-2 Distinctive Ring Call Processor

Thanks for that very through and clear response to my questions before I bought. I do not have a separate fax machine and only an internal fax modem in my computer. Now I just call my voice number for both voice and modem, and a fax number to the external world. This saves me a great deal of money.

Thanks

Wow! The SR is great!

I really appreciate the insight helping me decide. You were right, I think distinctive ringing and voice mail is best for me. I am able to use a product of this type with DSL Internet. I'm online while one number is routed to my telephone (and ultimately to my voicemail if I ignore it) and the other number is routed to my fax - all from one phone line.
